Code of Conduct

West Park Catholic Academy provides a Catholic atmosphere where each child can grow in mind, spirit, and body. We strive to encourage self-discipline with such well ordered thinking and acting that real learning can take place. Respect for God, self and others is what motivates us to make choices that contribute to a Christian learning environment. Students are assisted in learning that self-discipline is part of total growth and that they have responsibility for their choices. To this end each child shall:

Study about and be committed to the following of the teachings of Christ by

  • Taking an active part in religion classes and liturgies
  • Participating in Sunday Mass or Church Services
  • Acting in a Christian way toward others

Work hard to learn and to protect each other’s right to learn by

  • Taking an active part in class
  • Listening well and asking questions
  • Being prepared with books, supplies and assignments
  • Attending school when not sick and being on time
  • Following all class and school rules
  • Not disrupting the class
  • Having a positive attitude
  • Believing in your ability to succeed

Show respect to all members of our school community by

  • Being honest, truthful and kind
  • Treating others fairly
  • Obeying teachers and all those in authority
  • Being polite and caring (not booing, insulting others or using bad language)
  • Observing rules of courtesy in church, the hallways, the lunch room, assemblies, field trips and any other gatherings
  • Developing a basic attitude of thoughtfulness and consideration

Respect the property rights of the school and all other individuals by

  • Taking care of books, materials and technological equipment
  • Leaving the cafeteria, restrooms and classrooms in good order
  • No stealing or using other’s property without asking
  • No damaging or destroying any and all property (writing on walls and furniture)
  • No chewing gum and/or disposing of it carelessly
  • No littering the school or parish grounds

Note: Lockers and desks are school property and are under the jurisdiction of the school. The school personnel reserves the right to inspect any school property at any time. The student need not be present for the inspection.

Make our school a safe place by

  • Eliminating all violence (fighting, rough play, threatening or abusive language, throwing objects, bullying, etc.)
  • Keeping all drugs, alcohol or weapons of all kinds off school grounds
  • No leaving the school grounds without permission
  • Respecting each person’s personal space

Wear the school uniform with pride by

  • Observing the uniform and dress code policies
  • Taking good care of uniform clothing
  • Observing proper hygiene and health practices
